Admissions
Overview

There are three main steps in the Employment Training Center 's admissions process.

Step 1: Choose an ETC program.

To determine which ETC program matches your needs, ask yourself: What are my career and academic goals? What are my areas of interest? What is my availability? What location is convenient for me? What can I afford? Knowing the answers to these basic questions will help you determine the most appropriate ETC program to help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

Step 2: Determine the method of payment.

Most students are referred to the Employment Training Center by an agency/outreach counselor or social worker who authorizes payment for the students' tuition. Referring agencies include but are not limited to the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation, Oahu Work Links, private rehabilitation services, the Department of Education, and non-profit community support services. However, a portion of our student population chooses to pay for their training directly. (Note: There is no financial aid assistance available for ETC courses.)

Step 3: Complete the necessary forms and requirements prior to the ETC program's start date.

Be sure to work with your agency counselor (if applicable) to ensure that all the necessary forms and requirements are completed and submitted to ETC in a timely manner. You will also meet with an ETC counselor in person to register for the program, and in some cases attend a brief orientation, prior to your first day of class.
