Students must complete a minimum of 150 hours of mandatory training. Clinical practicum training is provided through nursing care facilities and covers body mechanics, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, hand washing, infectin control, communication skills, transfers, range of motion, mental health and social needs, elimination, and resident rights. Personal care skills, such as how to help patients to bathe, eat, and groom themselves are also taught.
Students must pass a competency evaluation as part of this State-approved training program. Nurse's Aides whos complete the program will receive a Certificate of Professional Development from WCC and be eligible to take the Red Cross CNA exam. Students who pass the exam are placed on the State registry of Certified Nurse's Aides. |
