You will participate in classroom and supervised practical training in the operation of detection equipment,
location and identification of munitions by category and group, firing system design and construction (electric and nonelectric);
and design, construct, and detonate demolition explosives as required by the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board
(DDESB) in DDESB Technical Paper 18 (TP-18). Unexploded Ordnance Technician I is a new career in Hawaii. A UXO
technician identifies and classifies military munitions such as bombs, guided missiles, military explosives and demolition materials.
Prerequisites for UXO Technician I position are successful completion of this course and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course.
