Unexploded Ordnance Technician I Training

No felony convictions: criminal background check (~cost: $20)
Physical clearance for OSHA HAZWOPER physical examination (~cost: $500)
Signed physician’s statement in accordance with OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120. (Hazardous Waste
Operations and Emergency Response)
Panel 5 Federal Drug Screen (~cost: $60)
Exercise stress test for those older than 40 years with a history of coronary artery disease (~cost: $200)
Release, Indemnification, Hold Harmless Agreement and Covenant Not-to-Sue Form
Minimum 21years old
Proof of High School Diploma or GED
No illegal drug usage

Description

You will participate in classroom and supervised practical training in the operation of detection equipment, location and identification of munitions by category and group, firing system design and construction (electric and nonelectric);
and design, construct, and detonate demolition explosives as required by the Department of Defense Explosive Safety Board (DDESB) in DDESB Technical Paper 18 (TP-18). Unexploded Ordnance Technician I is a new career in Hawaii. A UXO
technician identifies and classifies military munitions such as bombs, guided missiles, military explosives and demolition materials.


Prerequisites for UXO Technician I position are successful completion of this course and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training course.
